Meredith freshman Jenna Underwood has been named USA South Women's Golf Rookie of the Week following a strong showing at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate, highlighting her continued growth and consistency in her debut season.
Underwood, a native of Benson, North Carolina, placed 18th out of 58 competitors in a competitive field, finishing the three-round event with a 35-over par 248. She opened the tournament with a 15-over par 86 before making a significant jump in the second round, carding an eight-over par 79—her lowest round of the event. She closed out play with a 12-over par 83, demonstrating steady composure across all three rounds.
Her performance helped anchor Meredith's lineup against a deep field and reflects the poise and progress she has shown throughout the season. Underwood's ability to adjust and improve round-to-round continues to be a promising sign for the Avenging Angels as they head into postseason play.
