RALEIGH, N.C. – The Meredith College Avenging Angels competed on their home courts Tuesday afternoon, hosting USA South Conference opponent Southern Virginia University (SVU). Despite the final score, Meredith showed resilience and continued growth across both doubles and singles play.
Southern Virginia secured the doubles point, but the Avenging Angels battled throughout the lineup. The duo of Maya Kirstein and Jayla Kearney delivered Meredith's strongest doubles showing at the No. 3 position, pushing their match to a competitive 7-5 finish. Cate Reilly and Molly Zuburg, along with Zoe Jones and Coley Dyer, continued to battle against a strong SVU lineup.
In singles action, Meredith competed with determination from top to bottom. Molly Zuburg highlighted the effort at No. 2 singles, extending rallies and showing composure in a hard-fought second set. Across the lineup, players including Zoe Jones, Jayla Kearney, Coley Dyer, and Maya Kirstein demonstrated grit and persistence, continuing to build momentum and confidence as the season progresses.
