FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Meredith soccer's Sam Carroll has been selected as the USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The freshman midfielder played a major role in the Avenging Angels' dominant 12-1 win at Salem on Saturday to open conference play on a high note.

 


Carroll tallied six total points, playing a part in four of the team's 12 goals on the day. The Franklinton, North Carolina native scored two goals and added a pair of assists as well.

She currently leads the team with eight points on the season.

Meredith soccer will travel to Methodist for another USA South road contest this Wednesday, September 23 at 7 p.m.
