Basketball Takes Down Bishops, Advance to USA South Tournament

Rocky Mount , N.C. – The Meredith basketball team ended their regular season with a win and gained their first ever USA South tournament bid. The Avenging Angels defeated the Battling Bishops 88-68.

The Avenging Angels lead the game the whole way and dominated the Bishops. Meredith was hot from the field, shooting 59% for the game.

Meredith was led by their two seniors with both scoring over 20 each. Brittany Cornelius had 22 points and Hunter Johnson 21. Kristin Stewart dominated on the boards, pulling down 10 rebounds and four blocks to go with her 15 points. Megan Rahn added 19 points.

Meredith earns the #7 seed in the USA South tournament and will travel to Ferrum on Tuesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
