Raleigh, N.C. – The Meredith basketball team hosted Mary
Baldwin on Saturday in USA South conference action. The Avenging
Angels squandered a 10 point halftime lead to lose 75-66 to the
Fighting Squirrels.
Meredith (6-11, 5-7 USA South) fell behind early to Mary Baldwin
(8-9, 6-7) as they held a 13-point lead with 14:41 remaining in the
half. The Avenging Angels went on a run of their own to lead by as
many as 12 with under two minutes to play. The Avenging Angels held
the 10-point halftime lead at 39-29.
Mary Baldwin took the lead with ten minutes remaining and
didn't lose the lead the rest of the way.
Meredith was led by Brittany Cornelius with 20 points and nine
rebounds. Megan Rahn had a double-double of 14 points and 12
rebounds. Kristin Stewart has 12 points and nine rebounds.
Meredith next hosts Shenandoah on Sunday at 2 p.m.
