Staunton, Va. - The Meredith softball team evened their USA
South Conference record to 3-3 with duel 14-1 wins over Mary
Baldwin on Saturday. Meredith out hit Mary Baldwin 30-4 for the
doubleheader.
Game 1: Meredith 14,
Mary Baldwin 1 - 5 innings: Meredith (13-9, 3-3 USA South)
was led with three home runs in game one with two from Arielle
Stout and one from Guss Crist. Crist led a threesome of batters who
had three hits that included Kirstin Morris and Brittney Tucker.
Morris and Tucker both scored three times for the Avenging
Angels.
Meredith pitcher Jessica Dzeskewicz gained the win by giving up
only one hit and striking out six in three innings pitched.
Game 2: Meredith 14,
Mary Baldwin 1 - 5 innings: Morris had a second hot game on
the day by going three for five including a triple with two RBIs
and scoring three times. Eleven different batters for the Avenging
Angels had a hit.
Stout earned the win for Meredith and pitched a no-hitter in her
three inning performance, striking out seven.
Meredith next plays at Peace on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a Strikeout
Cancer game between the two rivals.
