Greensboro, N.C. - The Meredith softball team finished their
non-conference schedule with a split at Guilford College. The
Avenging Angels won game one 7-0 and Guilford took game two
2-0.
Game 1: Meredith 7,
Guilford 0: Meredith (19-15) held Guilford (23-8-1)
scoreless under great pitching from starter Amanda Beirne and
closer Laurel Lebeau. Meredith scored on multiple errors from the
Quakers and had a key two-RBI double from Guss Crist in the top of
the fifth inning.
Game 2: Guilford 2,
Meredith 0: The Avenging Angels could not string any hits
together on the day and scattered five throughout the second game.
Key hits included a double from Ashley Braswell and a long single
from Olivia Izze that was a foot shy of a home run.
Meredith next hosts Averett on Saturday in their season finale
before the conference tournament. First pitch of the doubleheader
is slated for 2 p.m.
