Rahn Honored on Senior Night as Pacers Take Home Finale

Box Score

Raleigh, N.C. - Wednesday night saw the Peace Pacers come to Weatherspoon Gymnasium to take on the Meredith basketball team.  The Pacers defeated the Avenging Angels 69-57.  Meredith senior Megan Rahn was honored in a ceremony prior to her last home game in an Avenging Angel uniform.  She finished the game with a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds.

Meredith (6-18, 4-13 USA South) started the game off hot as a quick four points by Diana Owens gave Meredith the 7-2 lead.  Peace (4-20, 3-14) then went on a streak of their own and tied things up at 7-all with 14:48 remaining.  The Angels and Pacers would battle it out for the next few minutes and had their third tie in the low scoring game at 10-all with less than 12 minutes remaining in the first half.  That tie would be the last that Meredith would have of the lead as cold shooting by the Avenging Angels gave the Pacers the advantage.  Peace held the 29-19 halftime advantage and would not relinquish the lead the rest of the game as they took the 12 point victory..

This marked the last meeting of the crosstown rivals on the basketball court as women's colleges as Peace is slated to go co-ed next season.

Meredith was led by Rahn's 17 points and 16 rebounds.  Bryana Holmes and Owens both put up 10 points a piece.  Peace was led by Callie Yohn with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Meredith finishes their regular season on Saturday as they travel to Methodist for a 2pm match up.
