The Angels pushed the ball up the court, and Raven Gregory dished off to Hinton for two points in the paint to give the Angels their largest lead of the game.
But Katelyn Clarke drilled a quick three-pointer on Guilford's next possession to launch a 12-1 Quaker run to put the hosts in the lead by three with 1:25 left in the period.
Girard drove to the paint for a bucket seconds later, and Gregory forced a GC turnover on the next defensive set. Hayes passed the ball into Hinton for the score to send the Angels into the break ahead by one.
After the intermission momentum shifted quickly back to Guilford, and the Quakers jumped out to a six-point advantage in the first 90 seconds of play.
Meredith pulled to within one on two occasions thanks to three-point shooting from Hayes and Nicole Miller, but the Quakers maintained the advantage down the stretch.
A late three from Chandler Hines cut the deficit back to single digits, but the late effort by the Avenging Angels proved too late to prevent the loss.
Girard tallied seven points, three assists, and Miller and Hines added six apiece. Danielle Lee pulled down a team-high five rebounds, adding four points in the loss.
