Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith College lacrosse team put up a strong fight against the seasoned Lebanon Valley Dutchmen in non-conference action Monday afternoon. But the Pennsylvania visitors held the Angels to just two second-half goals for a 12-7 win.
LVC held a 3-1 lead at the end of the first 17 minutes of play before Meredith's Katie Burnet found the net on back-to-back attempts to tie the match at 9:21. Alison Reisert and Victoria Doyle each earned an assist.
Doyle drove in for a goal at 3:34 to break nearly six-minute scoreless spell late in the period.
Lebanon's Brenna O'Neill dished out a pair of assists to edge the visitors back in front with just 45 ticks before the break.
In the final seconds of the period, Angels defender Cameron Ruffin charged down the field to hand off a pass to Lottie Meadows sending the team's into the break even at five apiece.
Jennifer Halvorson scored a pair of unassisted goals in the second period, but the Lebanon Valley offense took over the match. Dutchman Tori Kuntz scored three to shift the momentum to the visitors, and teammate Bailey Benz added two more to lift Lebanon Valley out front for good.
Burnet and Halvorson led the Avenging Angels with two goals apiece, and Burnet added three draw controls. Doyle and Alyssa Codispoti combined for five of the remaining seven draws in the loss.
Meghan Brooks tallied three saves in her first loss for the Angels, and Shelby Morris recorded the win for LVC.
