Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Senior outfielder Sarah Watson went five-of-six at the plate Sunday driving in three runs to lead Meredith College softball to back-to-back wins over the visiting Greensboro Pride, 2-1 and 4-3.

Game 1
Kelsey Mabe and Haley Ervin led off in the first inning with a pair of singles to set up for Watson's only RBI in the game one. The game winning run came in the fifth as Watson scored as Brittany Bucklin advanced on an outfield error.

With Greensboro's Hanna Stackhouse on second base in the seventh frame, Jasmine Worthy reached first on a throwing error by the pitcher. After the run scored Julia Allsbrook through Worthy out at second to end the game in favor of Meredith.

Taylor Jackson pitched her first of two complete games on the day for the win. She allowed no earned runs on five hits with two walks, striking out four. GC's Maddy Wetherholt recorded her fifth loss in the circle for the Pride.

Game 2
Greensboro scored quickly in game two on an infield misstep, but the Avenging Angels responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. Kelsey Mabe hit her first of two triples to lead off the inning and scored the first run. Watson's rally continued as she drove in Ervin for the second to edge Meredith into the lead.

A similar series in the third inning extended the Angels lead as Mabe launched her second triple to center field, and Watson followed with a RBI single for the 3-1 lead.

The Pride tied the game in the fourth before Jackson forced a ground out to end the frame. Rookie Savannah Pierce walked in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to complete the sweep.

Jackson earned the second win allowing two of Greensboro's runs and striking out four. The Pride's Cheyanne Cox claimed the loss.

Meredith is slated for back-to-back midweek doubleheaders beginning with USA South action versus William Peace Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Avenging Angels follow with two games in Misenheimer, North Carolina, versus the Pfeiffer Falcons.
