Perko with 27 Points to Lead Angels in 83-77 Win Over Pride

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College topped Greensboro College 83-77 in USA South women's basketball action Sunday afternoon. Kate Perko led with 27 points in both games of the series this weekend to give the Angels a pair of wins.

The first quarter left Meredith trailing by one but 68.8 percent shooting in the second pushed the Avenging Angels out front 55-47 at the half. The score remained close throughout the last 20 minutes of play to give MCBB their second consecutive conference win.

Caroline Coleman dropped in five three pointers for 18 total points, and Kimberly Schuh tallied 17 with seven rebounds and six assists. Rookies Mikayla Farris and De'ja Morgan combined for 19 points, 11 boards, and Piper Carriere dished out 13 assists with one field goal in the fourth quarter. 

Three Greensboro players posted 15 points to lead the Pride.
