Box Score 2 ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan took both games of a softball doubleheader against Meredith, winning 3-0 and 4-3.
Despite being limited to three hits in Game 1, Meredith only trailed 1-0 heading into the late innings. But two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning added insurance for N.C. Wesleyan.
In Game 2, Meredith once again trailed 1-0, but a two-run homerun by Rachel Johnson gave the Avenging Angels a 2-1 lead through four innings. It was Johnson's first homerun at Meredith.
In the sixth, N.C. Wesleyan would once again put runs on the board, putting three runners across the plate, including a Beth Braswell two-run homer, to take 4-2 lead. Meredith would cut the deficit in half in the top of the seventh as Alyssa Drake drove in Madison Hamilton, but the Angles were unable to find the equalizer.
Meredith hosts N.C. Wesleyan Sunday afternoon for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
