The Meredith College Basketball team faced off against Mary Baldwin on Saturday afternoon and fell just short by a score of 60-51. The Avenging Angels played a great second half as they outscored the Fighting Squirrels 37-30 to attempt the comeback.

The offense came primarily from forward Kate Perko, who recorded another double-double with her 18 points and 19 rebounds. The Avenging Angels were also aided by a strong effort from Guard De'ja Morgan who posted a team high 21 points off the bench. 

The Fighting Squirrels were led by Forward Jalen Gathers who posted a team high 26 points. They also got a strong contribution from Guard Demet Saygili who posted 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort.

The Avenging Angels have a quick turnaround as they will host N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday January 26th. The game tips off at 6pm.
