The Avenging Angels fell to the Monarchs of Methodist University in their first game of 2022 with a final score of 62-46.

Following a very tight first half, the Monarchs were able to pull away after the break with their hot shooting. Sophomore guard Jessica Drake scored 17 points to keep Methodist ahead throughout the second half.

Meredith was led by forward Kate Perko who had a team high 16 points. Guards Mikayla Thompson and De'ja Morgan put in an all around effort today, filling up the stat sheet. Thompson finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists while Morgan finished 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.

The Avenging Angels will continue conference play as they travel to Averett University on January 7th. The game will tip off at 7pm.
