RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program picked up its first win of the 2022-23 season over Pfeiffer 70-57 Friday night inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium. 

The Angels outscored the Falcons by 24 between the second and third quarters to build their lead to earn the victory. 

Meredith was led by junior De'ja Morgan who tied a career-high with 21 points while adding six rebounds and three assists. Senior Kate Perko tallied another double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds while junior Piper Carriere added 10 points with five rebounds and five assists. 

The Angels only shot the ball from downtown five times but hit four of those compared to the Falcons going seven of 32. 

Meredith is back in action at home tomorrow when they host Brevard at 2 p.m.
