Women's Volleyball Heath Barringer

Volleyball outlast N.C. Wesleyan in five sets

Box Score Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program survived a tight USA South match at North Carolina Wesleyan College winning 3-2 in a five set thriller inside Everett Gymnasium Wednesday night. 

The Angels sit at the top of the USA South currently with a 11-2 conference record and 17-6 overall. Meredith dropped the first set followed by back to back wins before dropping the fourth which forced the fifth set where the Angels won 15-10.

Junior Emma Duncan led the Angels with 14 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Senior Lauren Bissette was right behind her with 13 digs while also adding 2.5 blocks. 

Sophomore Lillie Davis tallied a double-double with 36 assists and 15 digs while also adding five kills. Senior Hannah Jo Jablonski and sophomore Alexa House combined for 28 digs defensively for the Angels. 

Meredith is back on the road in USA South play this Saturday when they travel to Brevard at 2 p.m.
