LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Meredith softball program began their spring break week of travel with a stop at LaGrange College Saturday afternoon splitting a doubleheader with the old USA South foe. The Angels fell 9-1 in game one but bounced back rolling the Panthers 10-3 in game two. 

In game one of the afternoon, the Angels struggled to get going as they were only able to produce one run on two hits. This was only the third game this season where Meredith did not score more than one run with the two other games coming against Virginia Wesleyan. 

Junior Laura Tobin had a hit and the lone RBI while sophomore Gracie Massengale added the other hit.

Meredith got right back on track in game two of the day scoring 10. The Angels' offense has scored six or more runs in its last five of six games. 

Freshman Lillie Davis had another fantastic outing in the circle striking out eight while only giving up one earned run.

Senior Fallon Wimberly had a two-hit game while earning three RBIs and sophomore Jessie Woller also added three RBIs. Juniors Mia Staggs and Savannah Talley also had two-hit games to lead the high-powered Angel offense.

The Avenging Angels now travel to Kissimmee, Fl., where their first games of the week are Monday, March 13th, when they battle the University of Southern Maine at 9 a.m. followed by Farmingdale State at 11:30 a.m.
