Box Score 2 Kissimmee, Fl. - The Meredith softball program finished their spring break trip of eight games in six days at .500 going 4-4. The Angels fell 2-0 in game one of the day to Bethel (Minn.) followed by a 10-8 loss to Amherst.
The Angels' offense struggled to get going in game one only producing two hits the entire game, one from junior Mia Staggs and one from senior Fallon Wimberly.
Bethel (Minn.) scored in the first inning of play which proved to be the difference. Senior Hannah Weigle tallied six strikeouts and only gave up three hits.
The offense woke up in game two against Amherst as the Angels tallied 14 hits. Meredith gave up five first-inning runs and had to battle back for the rest of the game. They scored three in the bottom of the 7th but the comeback fell short.
Grad student Alyssa Drake led the charge with four hits and three RBIs. Junior Laura Tobin and freshman Emilee Lewis joined Staggs in having a two-hit effort.
Meredith is back in action at Brevard, on March 25th, at 1 and 3 p.m.
