RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith tennis program fell 8-1 to Randolph-Macon Sunday afternoon at the Meredith tennis courts to begin the 2023 spring season. 

Junior Summer Elkins picked up the lone point for the Angels winning her No. 4 singles match 6-3 and 6-4. Fellow junior Savannah Duduk competed in the second-closest singles match falling 2-6 and 4-6.

The Yellow Jackets swept doubles play but the sophomore duo of Claire Southern and Sophie Phillips battled in the tightest match falling 8-4.

The Angels are back in action Wednesday the 8th when they travel to Southern Virginia at 3 p.m.
