BREVARD, N.C. - The Meredith tennis program traveled to Brevard college for a USA South clash falling 8-1 Saturday afternoon.
The team played hard but fell 8-1 as Breavard swept doubles to begin the day.
Sophomore Ellie Osborne at No. 1 singles lost in a third set tiebreaker. Sophomore Claire Southern at No. 2 singles lost the first set in a tiebreaker while fellow sophomore Sophie Phillips got her first win in a third set tiebreaker (10-8).
"I'm proud of the team for fighting hard in difficult conditions (Wind gusts up to 30 mph)," Coach Eric Douglass said. "We are making progress and are looking to get our first win against Greensboro College this Thursday at 3 p.m."
