Box Score 2 RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith softball program hosted Mary Baldwin University Friday afternoon for Senior Day and dropped both games. Mary Baldwin took game one 12-0 in five innings before taking game two 3-2 in extra innings.
Meredith (20-16, 10-6 USA South) only tallied three hits in game one.
Mary Baldwin (15-12-1, 7-5 USA South) scored four in the first inning and seven in the fourth to earn the five-inning victory.
The Angels' offense struggled in game two as well. It came alive in the fifth inning to tie the game at 2-2 after senior Fallon Wimberly doubled to get things rolling. Sophomore Jessie Woller tallied an RBI that inning along with junior Sarah Manis who drove in freshman Emilee Lewis. Lewis and Woller each had two-hit games.
Mary Baldwin scored in the eighth to take game two. Senior Hannah Weigle pitched all eight innings only allowing two earned runs.
Meredith is back in action at N.C. Wesleyan, April 29th, with game one beginning at 1 p.m.
