Harris Leads the Way in Angels' First Road Victory of the Season

Box Score Harrisonburg, VA - The Meredith Avenging Angels trekked back to Northern Virginia to face off against their longtime rivals; the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University. After a strong second half, the Angels secured their second win of the season. For the first time in program history, Meredith holds a series lead against an opponent; edging out the Royals 2-1 in matchup history.

How it Happened:
- The Royals came out quick in the opening period, scoring in the first five minutes of the match. Meredith stayed composed, keeping the Royals offense to just two more shots in the first period.
- Meredith strung together a quick team goal to respond. Just 1 minute and 52 seconds into the second period, Maya Kirstein passed from baseline to the top of the circle where Carleigh Harris sent a shot into the back of the cage. The Royals sent 5 shots into the Angel's Defense, but Meredith denied Eastern Mennonite's chances to even the score.
- Maya Kirtsein came up again for the Angels in the third. After a series of offensive corners early in the third, Kirstein gathered a rebound off the goalie and secured the game winning goal for Meredith. Natasha Elder led the Angels in shutting down the Royal's offense; giving up no corners and only one shot throughout the entire second half.
- The Angels continued the pressure, fighting to widen the gap against the Royals. With 10 minutes left on the clock, Charlotte Dyer capitalized on a loose ball off the goalie to notch her seventh career goal. The final whistle blew with a score of Meredith 3 to EMU 1.
