RALEIGH, N.C. – Meredith College freshman golfer Laura Lea Allen has been named the USA South Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office. The Graham, North Carolina native earned the honor after an impressive performance at the Battle of 64 tri-match, featuring USA South foes Pfeiffer and William Peace.

Allen placed second overall out of 11 golfers, posting a ten-over-par 82 in the one-round event. Her consistent play and poise under pressure helped lead the Avenging Angels to a strong team showing against their conference rivals.

This recognition marks a historic milestone for the Meredith golf program, as Allen becomes the first-ever Avenging Angel to earn USA South Rookie of the Week honors.

Meredith College is looking to breathe new life into its golf program, and Allen's early success serves as a promising sign of what's to come for the Avenging Angels.
