Fayetteville, N.C. - The Meredith basketball team traveled to Methodist on Wednesday.  The Avenging Angels fell to the Monarchs 71-51.

Meredith (4-10, 1-8 USA South) took the early 3-0 lead before the Monarchs grabbed the lead and took the 35-21 halftime advantage.  Methodist (9-8, 7-3) outshot Meredith 44% to 24% and dominated on the boards 54-34.

Meredith was led by Megan Rahn's 28 points and 14 rebounds.  This was Rahn's eighth double-double on the season and fifth in a row. Ashley Hudson and Allyson Stephenson each had 10 points for Meredith.  

Meredith next returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Averett.
