CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Meredith College volleyball team defeated non-conference foe Johnson and Wales 3-1 in Charlotte Thursday night. While Meredith hit just .250 on the night, the Wildcats finished with more errors than kills to keep the Angels in control.

Outside hitter Karlie Long posted her seventh season double-double with a match-high 15 kills, adding 13 digs. Elizabeth Pattison also notched double-digit kills with 14 from the right side. Defensive specialist Keegan Lynch tallied a match-high 18 digs, and Hannah Blaylock dished out 19 assists.

Head Meredith Coach Fiona Barkley distributed playing time throughout her roster, as Katie Keen recorded 16 assists on the night. Katelyn Rall and Alex Hafliger combined for 11 kills, and Jasmine Aguinaldo led Meredith with three blocks, adding three kills in the middle.

With a similar performance as posted earlier in the week versus Ferrum, Meredith's third rookie setter Haylee Parks entered the match for two sets and recorded eight assists to go along with five digs.

The Avenging Angels are back in conference action Saturday as hosts for a USA South play day. Methodist travels to Raleigh, and both teams face the visiting Huntingdon Hawks and LaGrange Panthers. Meredith opens the day at 10 a.m. with the Hawks.
