GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Meredith College posted a 2-2 record in the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic over the weekend. Outside hitter Caroline Corey led the Avenging Angels and was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts.

Friday evening, Meredith opened the 2018 season with a 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-13) victory over Lancaster Bible College and followed with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 26-24) loss to the McDaniel Green Terror.

Meredith finished off Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg 3-1 (25-5, 22-25, 25-17 25-20) Saturday before dropping a 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-13) loss to the host Bullets.

Corey was named to the All-Tournament team after leading the Avenging Angels with 2.67 kills per set and 40 total kills. She posted 41 digs with eight blocks on the defensive end. Libero Emily Skoglund finished with 48 digs, and Cathy Delano tallied a dozen blocks from the middle.

Meredith opens at home Wednesday evening playing host to the Roanoke Maroons at 7 p.m. in Weatherspoon Gym. Follow live action HERE.
