Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program honored senior Hailey Long before sweeping Brevard in their first match of the day and fell to Southern Virginia 3-1 later in the day inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium.

Long had a game-high 13 kills while junior Lauren Bissette tallied 11 kills. Junior Hannah Jo Jablonski led the team with 14 digs

In the four-set loss to Southern Virginia, who is at the top of the USA South, Long led the team again in kills with 17. Bissette and sophomore Martin-Maine Wrangell earned 12 kills each while Jablonski ancored the defense again with 15 digs.

The Avenging Angels are back in action Oct. 19th at Mary Baldwin at 6 p.m.
