Box Score 2 Winston Salem, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program split two five-set thrillers against Salem College and Pfeiffer University Saturday afternoon inside Varsity Gym.
The Avenging Angels dropped the first two sets in the match with Salem before forcing a fifth set and falling in five. Junior Lauren Bissette led the attack with 17 kills swinging a .400 hitting percentage. Senior Hailey Long added 14 kills while freshman setter Lillie Davis netted a double-double with 39 assists with 16 digs.
Junior Hannah Jo Jablonski led the defense with 20 digs while freshman Lexie House added 14.
In the second match of the day against Pfeiffer, Meredith was able to take the first two sets over the Falcons. Pfeiffer scored 27 points in the fourth set to force the fifth set.
Sophomore Martin-Maine Wrangell led the attack with 20 kills while Long added a double-double with 13 kills and 18 digs.
Davis totaled 53 assists and 13 digs for her second double-double on the day.
Meredith is back in action Tuesday in a non-conference game against Roanoke at home with first serve set at 7 p.m.
