Meredith softball delivered a standout week both in the circle and at the plate, as sophomore infielder Kaydon Roberson and senior pitcher Lillie Davis earned USA South Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors. Roberson was named Player of the Week, while Davis collected Pitcher of the Week recognition following a dominant 5-1 stretch for the Avenging Angels.
Roberson powered Meredith's offense with a breakout week at the plate, hitting an impressive .500 (10-for-20) while compiling a .524 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage.
The sophomore from Princeton, North Carolina was a consistent offensive spark, tallying three runs scored, six RBI, two doubles, two triples, and a stolen base across six games.
Her production was especially impactful in conference play. In a doubleheader sweep of Methodist, Roberson went a combined 6-for-7, driving in three runs while adding a double and a stolen base. She followed that performance with another strong showing against Mary Baldwin, going 4-for-7 with two runs scored, three RBI, a double, and two triples in a sweep of the Fighting Squirrels.
Roberson's ability to deliver in key moments and consistently reach base helped fuel Meredith's offensive success throughout the week and played a critical role in the team's 5-1 record.
Davis turned in one of the most impressive pitching performances in the conference this season, going a perfect 5-0 across five starts while anchoring Meredith's success throughout the week.
In 32.0 innings of work, the senior from Roxboro, North Carolina posted a remarkable 0.88 ERA, allowing just six runs (four earned) on 14 hits while striking out 33 and issuing only six walks. Her command and consistency kept opposing offenses off balance and set the tone in every outing.
Against USA South competition, Davis elevated her play even further. She went 4-0 versus Methodist and Mary Baldwin, recording two complete-game shutouts and two one-hitters—dominant performances that underscored her ability to control games from start to finish.
She also delivered in a key non-conference matchup, earning a complete-game victory over Christopher Newport in a 4-3 decision. In that outing, Davis allowed three runs on seven hits while walking one, once again going the distance in a tightly contested game.
Davis contributed offensively as well, hitting .313 for the week with three runs scored, seven RBI, and a home run—rounding out a complete all-around performance.
