RALEIGH, N.C. — Meredith College softball continued its strong conference play with a standout individual performance, as junior first baseman Ashbee Standridge was named USA South Softball Player of the Week. Standridge's dominant showing at the plate fueled the Avenging Angels to a doubleheader sweep over conference opponent Southern Virginia.
Standridge delivered an efficient and explosive offensive performance, going 5-for-8 (.625) across the two games while posting a .625 on-base percentage and an impressive 1.500 slugging percentage. The Creedmoor, North Carolina native was a consistent force in the lineup, accounting for four runs scored and driving in seven RBI.
Her extra-base power played a key role in Meredith's success, as she recorded two doubles, a triple, and a home run during the sweep. Standridge's ability to produce in key moments helped the Avenging Angels generate momentum offensively and maintain control throughout the doubleheader.
With her all-around impact at the plate, Standridge continues to be a key contributor in Meredith's lineup as the Avenging Angels push forward in USA South Conference play.
